Over the last 2 weeks we have been learning to calculate the change in temperature. We have thermometers inside our class room and outside. Every morning we calculate the temperature inside and outside. The children have been paired with their talking partner and their mission has been to choose a place in New Zealand and calculate it's temperature over a period of time. This morning we had a very interesting chat about temperature because the thermometer outside said that it was 21 degrees celsius. We talked about why the temperature was so warm and the morning was very cold. We discovered that the thermometer was sitting in direct sunlight and that the heat from the sun had given use a false reading. We decided to move the thermometer out of the sun to get a more accurate reading.
