Making Dye

Sometimes, do you ever wonder what dye is made out of? Well if you do then here is an explanation of how my class made some colourful dye out of onion skins, tea and beetroot. Dye is not just made out of artificial ingredients, but out of berries, bark, fruit and veggie peels/skins. Here it is!

Dye experiment

Dye can be made out many fruit and vegetables, did you know that. Well now you do, in class we made dye out of Onion skins tea bags and beetroot so we made three different dyes. Dye can stain carpet, clothes and many other things, so you have to be careful around it. Dye doesn't have to be made out of fruit or vegetables, different cultures make different dyes. You can make different colour dyes with different things. When you put red fat pants into the washing machine with a white top or white pants then your clothes will be pink so there’s some bad things about dye.
