Rāhina 2 Kohitātea 2015
Blessing of our class, sharing food in the staffroom
The students chose to have a silent option after brunch and lunch -
Silent option - finishing off learning, Drawing, Writing and Reading.
We played Māori language games - pako, e peke
Body parts - waewae ki waewae
We set up class routines and expectations
We decided to share some of our stationery and keep some of it.
We read 'Tree Hut Treaty' and started thinking about our own class treaty.
We learnt some Māori phrases like
Whakarongo mai - listen to me
Kia tere - Hurry up
Kapai - choice
Haere - go
Rosie uses these strategies to get our attention - she counts down in Māori - and says 'Kia ora tamariki mā' (Kia ora Rosie)
Our plan for the rest of the week has changed slightly because we are extremely fast at getting through our activities.
