Maths - WALT solve multiplication problems using repeated addition

We began our lesson by checking their multiplication knowledge. I had 3 circles and asked the students to sort them into 2s, 5s and 3s. They were really fast with the 2s, and 5s but had a slow start with the 3s. So we used the number line and started making the 3s with pegs. Then all of a sudden Jhaz said, "I'm getting confused!" I said, "What's confusing you Jhaz?" She said, "some of the numbers in the 2s can go into the 5s." I agreed with her and asked the group if there were any they wanted to change. Then they started changing them and putting them in the middle of two circles.
